			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve learnt Project Management by being thrown into it unaware!  Fortunately, since then I&#8217;ve had some experienced people to learn from, but if you find yourself in the deep end without a paddle, here&#8217;s my survival guide.</p>
<p>Essentially managing a project is all about common sense and organisation!  Here&#8217;s a few things you should definitely keep an eye on:</p>
<ol>
<li>Communication - internal, external, 3rd party.  Watch it like an eagle and make sure it doesn&#8217;t break down.  This is THE most important thing you can do!</li>
<li>Change management - ensure you have a process and ideally have the client bought into it!</li>
<li>Assume nothing - If you haven&#8217;t heard anything, don&#8217;t assume it&#8217;s going as planned!</li>
<li>Progress tracking - This isn&#8217;t just for you, your team should know where they are in a project too.</li>
</ol>
